MAP is managed by health professionals for health professionals. The Board includes former AMAQ Presidents, an ADA Federal Board member and professionals from the investment, legal, business and superannuation community. The MAP Board are committed to the highest standards of corporate governance and ethics.

Dr Peter B. Boys - Chairman

MB BS, FRACS, FA OrthA
Dr Boys became a Director in December of 1995. He is an Orthopaedic Surgeon in private practice and is a Foundation Trustee of the Queensland Orthopaedic Research Trust. Dr Boys is a member of all MAP Committees and is the Chairman of the Board.

 

Mr Brendan P. Baulch

BCom, LLB, CA
Mr Baulch joined as a Director of the MAP Board in November 2009. Mr Baulch is a Chartered Accountant based in Toowoomba. He began his career with Price Waterhouse in their corporate tax division in Melbourne, after which he spent a total of eight years in London, gaining international accounting experience in a range of business sectors including telecommunications (Cable & Wireless plc), investment banking (Société Générale) and insurance (Lloyd’s of London). He is currently the principal of Baulch & Associates, a Toowoomba based accounting practice providing taxation, audit and management accounting services. Mr Baulch is a registered tax agent and a registered company auditor. He is a Director of Heritage Building Society and HeritageMAP Pty Ltd.

Dr William J.H. Glasson AO

MB BS (Qld), FRACO, FRACS, FRCOph Dip Appl Sci (Optom) (Qld)
Dr Glasson is a practicing ophthalmic surgeon who has been a Director since August 1995. As well as being on the Board, he is also a member of the MAP Investment Committee and of the Business Development Committee.

He currently holds the position as Chairman of the Advisory Committee to Cancer Australia and is also currently the Vice President of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

Dr Glasson is a past Federal President of the Australian Medical Association, as well as being past State President of the AMA. He also held positions of chairman, secretary and treasurer of the Queensland branch of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and has been chair of the Queensland Trachoma and Eye Health Board. His previous positions also include secretary of the Queensland branch of the Royal College of Surgeons and past National Hospitaller of St John Australia.

Dr Glasson was also awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia on the 26th January 2008, for service to medicine through contributions to people in rural and remote areas, to the eye health of indigenous people, and to professional medical organisations.

Mr Peter Heffernan

FCA, FAICD
Peter was appointed a Director of MAP in February 2004. He is a former Senior Partner of Ernst & Young and Director of Ernst & Young Corporate Finance, Brisbane. He retired in December 1998 and is now retained as a Consultant to the firm. Peter operates a Practice as a business consultant and also serves on the Board of a number of public and private corporations both in Australia and internationally. He is currently Chairman of the MAP Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee and a member of the MAP Business Development Committee.

Dr Peter Kent

MB BS, BSc (Hons), FRACGP. GAICD
Dr Kent has been a Director of MAP since April 2006. He has been a general practitioner in practice in Logan City and Brisbane since 1988. Dr Kent has been a member of the RACGP Queensland Faculty Board since 1996 where he was Honorary Faculty Treasurer from 2000-2005, then from 2005-present he has held Deputy Chair of the RACGP Queensland Faculty Board. From 2002-2005, he was a member of the National RACGP Finance Committee. Dr Kent is Chairman of the MAP Business Development Committee and a member of the Investment Committee.

Dr Richard J. Olive AM

AM, RFD, MDSc
Dr Olive is an Orthodontist. He is currently a Federal Executive Councillor of the Australian Dental Association Inc and a member of the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Orthodontists. His former posts include Chairperson of the Dental Board of Queensland, President of the Australian Dental Council, President of the Australian Dental Association (Queensland Branch) and past President of the Australian Society of Orthodontists Inc. He is also a past President of the United Service Club. He has been a Director of MAP since August 1995. Dr Olive is a member of the MAP Investment Committee and Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee.

 

Ms Jennifer Robertson

LLB, GradCertBus, GAICD
Ms Robertson was appointed to the Board of MAP in September 2009. She works as a Senior Consultant with Board Matters, a specialist corporate governance firm. In her role at Board Matters, she provides specialist corporate governance services to organisations and businesses throughout Australia. Jennifer was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1996 and prior to her commencement with Board Matters in 2006, she was a Senior Associate at national law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth with specialist expertise in both commercial and litigious matters.  Jennifer has extensive experience in providing governance advice and services to both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. She is currently a board member of the Queensland Independent Schools Block Grant Authority and the QUT Alumni Board. She is also Chair of Noah’s Ark Resource Centre (Qld). Jenny has held many positions on many committees and boards across Brisbane over the last 13 years.

 

Mr Adriaan C. Ryder

B BusSc (Actuarial) (Hons), AIA
Mr Adriaan Ryder joined as a Director of the MAP Board in July 2009. He currently holds the position of Managing Director, Strategy at Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC). QIC is a major funds manager for a range of public sector clients. The primary responsibilities of his current role are Strategic Asset Allocation and Beta Asset Management. Adriaan has broad experience working in Australia, the UK, America and South Africa across the following areas: Strategy Development, Capital Market Research, Portfolio Management, Investment Manager Evaluation/Selection, Relationship Development, Development of New Markets, and Product Strategy & Development. He is a member of the Institute of Actuaries (London) and the Association of Investment Management and Research (AIMR) in both the US and Europe. 

Mrs Wendy Tancred - Managing Director

BCom, CPA, Dip FP, CSM, Grad Cert Mgmt, SA Fin, FASFA, CFP®
Wendy was appointed Managing Director of MAP in October 2005. She is responsible to the MAP Board for day to day management of the MAP Group. Wendy has extensive experience in the financial services industry. She has held a variety of roles with AMP - technical, business development and marketing functions. Whilst with Westpac, Wendy held a number of senior positions within the Financial Planning and Private Bank divisions.   She is a Director of the Gregory Terrace Foundation and a Member of the Australian Dental Association Foundation Advisory Board.
